Rita Faye Salvato Dunn, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 29, 2019, at the age of 67. Memorial services will be 2:00pm Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel. Rita was born in San Angelo, Texas, on July 20, 1952, to Felix and Dorothy McClelland Salvato. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Roland Dickinson. She is survived by her love, Daniel Dunn; her siblings Nancy Salvato Fontenot, Travis Salvato, Felix Salvato, and Charlie Salvato; her children Teresa Estes and Stephanie Skinner; her grandchildren Karena Mills, Richard Dickinson III, Steven Mills, and Jamie Skinner; her great-granddaughter Emalee Dickinson, great-grandson Kai Dickinson, many nieces and nephews, and extended family. Rita was always outgoing and friendly but tough as nails. She worked for many years in north-side bars such as Levi's, Log Cabin, and Ouida's Lounge. She was quick to lend an ear to and help anyone in need. She enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends and family until her first stroke in her early 50s. She then became reclusive and fearful and after a second stroke about a year later, rarely left her home. Her ex-husband, Danny, was a constant companion and caregiver. Rita's health declined further this past year, and her family is grateful for the care given by Hospice of San Angelo. Special thanks to caregiver Linda, always there when needed, and Madison with whom Rita developed a close bond.
