Bob began his career as a professional school photographer in Houston before eventually making his way to San Angelo with his wife, Nikki, in 1975. He owned his own small business in San Angelo for over 21 years before retiring due to declining health in 1999. After retiring he worked full-time on researching the Archer family genealogy, eventually writing six books on his family history and meeting hundreds of relatives from all over the world. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America with his son, Robby, for many years and always enjoyed cheering on his daughter, Dyan, in her numerous athletic events. He will be deeply missed by all those who know and love him, although they are relieved that he will find the peace and comfort he has needed for years. He is survived by his wife Nikki Archer of 36 years, his son Robert E. "Robby" Archer, Jr., his daughter Dyan Archer and her son, Avery, all of San Angelo, along with many extended relatives.
