ROBERT THERON FORBUS

Robert Theron Forbus, 81, of San Angelo passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas. Robert was born in Norton, TX on March 7, 1928 to Roy H. and Adell Lett Forbus. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Opal Cleo Farr on March 28, 1951 in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, she preceded him in death on January 11, 2007. Robert worked most of his life as a truck driver. He first drove for Rainbow Oil Co. for ten year and then for Goodyear Proving Grounds for ten years before retiring from Goodyear. He then went to work for Bean Trucking for ten more years before retirement. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Lavonda Boykin and Pam Banks; a son Robert Dwight Forbus. Robert is survived by a daughter, Dee Ann Rohmfeld and husband, Charles; son, Jerry Forbus both of San Angelo; one sister, Jo Beth Galbert and husband, Buster of Ballinger; brother-in-law, John Henry Farr of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Shelly Rohmfeld; Chris Rohmfeld; Sabrina Jones and husband, Gary; Glimmer Cleo Forbus and Jerry Lynn Forbus, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Dakota Pierson and Katie Pierson all of San Angelo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Pallbearer'™s will be Chris Rohmfeld, D. J. Parr, Corby Gray, Doug Farr, James Barrows and James Hill.
