Robert Alton McEver

Robert A. McEver, 75, passed into his heavenly reward on January 30, 2022, surrounded by family at the Vitas Hospice in San Antonio, after a three-month long battle with cancer.

"Bob" was born on February 20, 1946, in Boca Raton, Florida, to Alton and LaNell (Howard) McEver. After his father completed Army Air Corps service in Florida, the family moved to Keesler Airforce Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. His school years were spent in San Angelo, where he graduated from Central High School in 1964. He worked at the family restaurant, McEver's Ranch House, during high school and college. He attended Baylor University and graduated from Angelo State University with a degree in accounting in 1976. While attending Angelo State, Bob served as president of the Delta Sigma Pi Collegiate Professional Fraternity in Commerce and Business Administration. After working for GTE for several years in Dallas and San Angelo, he moved to Georgetown, obtained his real estate broker's license, and sold real estate in the Lake Travis area with his father, Alton McEver. Subsequently, he worked in corporate real estate tax consulting in San Antonio and later continued selling real estate in the San Antonio area before his death.

Bob is survived by his wife of fifty years, Betsy (Daniel) McEver; his brother, Dan McEver, Sr. and wife Judy of Evansville, Indiana; his sister-in-law, Margaret Scott and husband Randy of Fredericksburg; his nephew, Dan McEver, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Collierville, Tennessee; nieces, Melissa (McEver) Jones and husband Briceson of Greensboro, North Carolina; Robyn Bonner and husband Clay of Carrollton; and Mindy England and husband Walker of Plano; step nephew, Brad Cook and wife Laura of Evansville, Indiana; and step niece, Jennifer Turpin and husband Ryan of Indianapolis, Indiana; and god-daughter, Jennifer Segura of San Antonio; he also leaves behind many cousins and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chad McEver, Clay Bonner, Walker England, Roman Zamarippa, Mike Baird, and Charles Mazinter.
