Ronald Jerry Beard

Ronald Jerry Beard, 77, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2014 at his residence. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. J. T. Tucker officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Ronald was born on August 23, 1938 in Atlanta, GA to Marcellas Lafayette Beard and Nellie Corine (Palmer) Beard. He was in the ROTC as a young man before serving his country during WWII in the US Navy for more than 10 years. In 1987 Ronald joined the Downtown Lions Club where he remained active for the next 15 years. He was preceded in death by his companion of 38 years, Rondyl Lee Willingham and a brother Stuart Marcellas Beard. Ronald is survived by sons, Ronald Jerry Beard, Jr. of Douglasville, GA; Jeffery Douglas Beard of Atlanta, GA; daughters Dixie A Clark of Atlanta, GA; Jeannie Beard of Cartersville, GA; son, Junior Lee Willingham of San Angelo; son, Sam (Trecia) Willingham of Fort Worth; son, Claude Wayne Willingham of Edge, TX, daughter, Shirley LaWaine (Jack) Mohler of Magnolia, TX, daughter, Rondyl Lynne Willingham McFadden of Round Rock; sisters Paula Beard (Raymond, Jr.) Kuniansky of Tucker, GA; Linda Beard (Roger, Sr.) McDaniel of Crawfordville, FL; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the Senior Citizens Service Center.
