Rosa Rivera Villarreal, 86, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, surrounded by her immediate family.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with John McGuire, chaplain of Kindred Hospice, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Villarreal was born October 24, 1935 in Austin. Rosa was a lifelong resident of San Angelo. She was a homemaker. Rosa loved to eat oatmeal from McDonald's every morning. She loved to hear her Spanish music all the time. Rosa was a strong-willed woman to the end. She enjoyed cooking and would welcome anyone and everyone that would come into her home to enjoy her delicious food. Even though she didn't have a lot, she was rich with love. Special thanks and love to uncle Ricardo "Ricky Sr." Martinez and aunt Solia Martinez, aunt Irma Cordva, uncle Noel Ybarra, and aunt Rosie Ybarra for their unconditional love and support. The family would like to give many thanks to a special friend, Kris Childs, and to her caretakers, Ernestina Luna, and Monica Sanchez for their help in caring for Rosa.
Survivors include a son, Robert Villarreal and wife Sally of San Angelo; two daughters, Amanda Villarreal of San Angelo, and Alicia Villarreal and Dan Medlin of New Orleans, Louisiana; her adopted daughter, Jessica Robison of San Angelo; grandson El Consentido (Sparkle of her Life), Amador "Skyler" Salazar and wife Jaqueline, and their children, Ace Prince Salazar and Gigi Chappa; granddaughter; La Consentida (Sparkle of her life), Abigail "Abi" Medlin; grandchildren, Daniel Joe "DJ" Cano, and his children, Shannel Villarreal, Crystal Cardona and husband Ricky, and their children Emilio Cardona and Elijah Cardona; and Brandon Valdez and wife Makayla and their son Jaiden Kaleb Valdez; her two fur babies, Rosie and Shumee. Rosa was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Gloria Villarreal; her son, Gilbert Villarreal; and a son-in-law, Amador T. Salazar, Jr.
