Rosalinda battled a terminal disease for a year prior to her passing. She fought bravely every day that she lived, and she was an inspiration to be around. She never complained, never blamed and never asked “why me?” She accepted her challenges with grace and determination. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Rosalinda was preceded in death by her parents, Lino Rivas and Odilia Perez and a sister, Odie Martinez. Rosalinda leaves behind her one true love, Henry Wayne Tafolla, to whom she was married for 37 years. Rosalinda adored her husband and was the happiest taking care of him and spoiling him. She had a rewarding and successful career at Ethicon, retiring after 33 years of service.
Rosalinda also leaves behind many beloved family members and friends including her siblings; Rachel English; Marie Aguirre and husband, Trinidad; Robert Rivas and wife, Tina; Richard Rivas and wife, Violet; Jaime Martinez; Lino Rivas; Michael Rivas and wife, Brenda; Alexander Rivas and wife, Jesica. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Rosalinda was much loved by everyone that knew her. She was a gentle, kind soul that genuinely cared and gave freely to those she loved. She never visited empty handed and her nieces, nephews, and godchildren always received a treat or money when she saw them. Rosalinda cared so much for her family and friends. She was always there to help with anything that anyone might need. We were blessed to have her in our lives and each one of us that loved her will always carry a piece of her with us.
Rosalinda’s family wishes to offer a special “thank you” to her dearest friend, caregiver, neighbor and sister in love, Marcela Gonzales. Thank you Marcela for providing Rosalinda much comfort, love, and care up to the very end. Our gratitude to you is boundless.
