RUBY E. HUGHES

Ruby E. Hughes, 86 of San Angelo passed away Sunday Feb. 21, 2010 at an area care center. Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Robert Massie Funeral Home with the Rev. Patricia Banks, chaplain of Lighthouse Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow at Belvedere Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Ruby was born August 28, 1923 in Carlsbad to William Henry and Elizabeth Potter Cox. She worked as a private duty nurse and while in the Women'™s Air Corps (WAC), she ran the Goodfellow newspaper, 'œThe Monitor'�. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; two children; Charlie Thomas Hughes and Louri Jane Leonard and three sisters. She is survived by her son; William Wayne Cox and his wife, Lauren of Paradise, Texas and a sister Judy Lankford of San Angelo, and one granddaughter, Dixie Cox. The family wishes to thank Lighthouse Hospice for the fine care given to Ruby.
