Psalm 116 (15) Says, 'œPrecious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.' We believe this scripture was fulfilled when Ruby Payne went home to be with her Lord on Monday, 30th of November 2009 at the age of 95. Ruby was the youngest of nine children born to Charles and Ellen Gideon. She is also the last to go to be with the Lord. She was born in Eastland, Texas on May 31, 1914. She remembered her 'œPapa' moving the family from Eastland to Winters, Texas in a covered wagon. Before she was born, the family moved from Mississippi to Eastland, Texas, in a covered wagon. The Lord gave her a very good life, but it was not always easy. She married a young farmer named Norman Payne in 1931. Ruby and Norman joined Bethel Baptist Church in the early 40'™s. Norman passed away in May 1957. Ruby youngest son Kenneth died from an accident on a motor scooter June 25th 1957. Ruby'™s faith remained strong. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Friday, December 4, 2009 at Robert Massie Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Chaplain J.T. Tucker of Vista Care Hospice and Pastor Lester Swan of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Ruby is survived by her three children and their spouses. Dan and Fran Payne of Lakewood, Colorado; Susie and Kenneth Walker of San Angelo, Texas; Sandy and Lester Orton of Arkansas. She is also survived by 8 grand children and 14 great grand children, and 3 great great children. In addition, remaining are many nieces and nephews, who were very kind to her and love her very much. Many people are sorry to lose Ruby, but we are very happy to know she is at home with the Lord. She will be missed by all very much.
