Ruth Edwards

Ruth Jewel Edwards, 89, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

Public viewing will from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2024, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Hawkins, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Edwards was born February 2, 1935 in Benham to Kirven and Eva McClinton. Ruth has been a resident of San Angelo since 1952. She worked at Shannon Medical Center for 15 years and later at San Angelo ISD for 25 years retiring in 2009. Ruth was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church where she was the president of the usher board. Ruth loved cooking and sewing.

Survivors include her son, Thomas McClinton of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Shauner McDonald of Bryan, Taila Williamson of Killeen, and Alana McClinton of San Antonio; three great grandchildren, Jasmine McDonald, Malachi Lee, and Ava Grace Lee; her nieces and caretakers Annette White, and Tracy Patton both of San Angelo; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family,Christian Fellowshop Baptist Chuch, and numerous friends. Ruth was preceded in death by a four brothers, Willie Bennett, Kirven McClinton, Clyde McClinton, and Bryson McClinton; and a sister, Gloria Thomas.
