RUTH DOSS HILL MELTON, 87, of San Angelo, Texas left this world to meet her heavenly father with family at her side on grandparent's day, Sunday, September 12, 2010. She was born in Keota, Oklahoma on February 17, 1923 to Herman and Temper Doss. She was the oldest of nine children. She and Noah owned Watson's Cafe; she worked at M-system egg station, and was a caregiver for the Alexander family. She was a member of San Angelo First Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years serving in many capacities from nursery worker to board member. Many know her as giver and a prayer warrior, who put others needs in front of her own. She loved children and tried to encourage them to learn Psalm 23, upon reciting it she rewarded them with 5 dollars. Our family was blessed to have several people to be close by for comfort and support and it is a true testimony to the love that Ruth lived out in her life. Our family would like to thank Dr. Herrington, Tracy and their family for being there for her and the family in her final hours. Special thanks to the family nurses, Courtney Sartain & Karena Newton, physical therapist, Paula Walker, Interim Hospice team, especially, Jennifer and Rebecca who came to know her as Granny Ruth. As well as, Eva Twombly, as her caregiver and family friend. Thanks to Dr. Morton and staff for treating her kindly over the last several years. Ruth was a virtuous woman who kept her faith in the Lord and her Savior whom she has finally made it home to. Ruth always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on with wise advice to give. John 14:1-6 "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2.In my Father'™s house there are many mansions. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you. 3.When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4.And you know the way to where I am going." 5.Thomas said to him, '˜Lord we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?'™ 6.Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.' She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband and love of her life Noah Hill, husband Marvin Melton, son Timothy (Timmy) Doss Hill and Brother H.
