RUTH SIMPSON

Ruth Simpson went to rest in the arms of Jesus on December 11, 2008. Ruth was born on June 1, 1923, to Zemma and Wyatt Gunnels in Coke County, TX. Ruth met the love of her life, Glenn Simpson, at the skating rink in Robert Lee, Texas. Glenn and Ruth married on March 16, 1941. Because Ruth wore a pretty pink dress on their wedding day, he painted his office building to remind him of that special day. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sons Larry Glenn and Roger Allen Simpson; brother Orlan Gunnels; and son-in-law Dwight Royal. Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Glenn; son Wayne Simpson and wife Vickie; daughter Barbara Simpson Royal; and son Clint Simpson and wife De'An; grandchildren Candace and husband Perry Hanes of Kaufman, TX; Brock Royal of Odessa, TX; Michael Simpson and fiancé Lindsey Traylor of Fort Collins, Colorado; Brian Royal; Brent Royal and fiancé Kyrie Taylor; Brodie Royal; and Crystin Simpson, all of San Angelo; and DeLeasha Simpson of Brownwood, TX. She also leaves behind four precious great-grandchildren, Caden Hanes of Kaufman; Jalynn Royal of San Angelo; and Javon and Jorian Simpson of Brownwood. She also leaves a void to special friends and family members, Jeff Paschal; niece Pat Lloyd; sisters-in-law Annelle Vick and Geneva Simpson as well as a host of family and friends. Visitation will be at Robert Massie Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday December 12, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday December 13, 2008 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with James Mitchell, of Immanuel Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Robert Lee Cemetery at 4:00 PM Saturday December 13, 2008. Pallbearers will be Michael Simpson, Brock, Brian, Brent, and Brodie Royal, and Jeff Paschal. The family expresses gratitude for their excellent professional care to the staff of San Angelo Community Medical Center, Legend Oaks Rehab Center, Medway Home Health, and VistaCare Hospice, and physicians Dr. Hewell, Dr. Blanc, Dr. Saborio, Dr. Jurado, Dr. Montoya, and Diane Alford, NP who assisted in providing excellent medical care. "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." Proverbs 31:10 - 12
