Sam Harvey, 85, of San Angelo, passed away on August 27, 2016 at a local hospital. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 31,2016 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Lane Landers, officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Sam was born on April 5, 1931 to Dave and Minnie (Heffington) Harvey in Knickerbocker. He graduated high school from San Angelo High School in the class of '49. Sam married Dorothy Scott on September 10, 1951 in Brownwood. He worked as a material analyst for the Texas Highway Dept for 33 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Bentwood Country Club since 1980, where he enjoyed playing golf and feeding the ducks and deer on the club grounds. He was preceded in death by Father, Dave Harvey, Sr., Mother, Minnie Harvey, Sister, Verta Mea Scott, Sister, Ida Lee Alexander and Brother, David Harvey, Jr. Sam is survived by his loving spouse of (64 years) Dorothy, Son, Kenneth Harvey of San Angelo, Two Daughters, D' Ann Freeman of San Angelo, Jenetha Moran of Plano, Sister, Winnie Rouse of Karnack, TX; Four Granddaughters, Kasandra Kirchman of Devine, TX, Mandi Moran of Plano, TX, Caitlin Moran of Frisco, TX, Madisyn Harvey-Duerksen of Parker, AZ; Two Grandsons, Lane Landers of San Angelo, Brent Emler of Brooklyn, NY; Four Great-granddaughters, Hayley Esensee of San Angelo, Emily Milillo of Brooklyn, NY, Joscelyn Dickey of San Angelo, Fallon Landers of San Angelo, Great-grandson, Garrett Helcl of Waco, great-great-grandson, Jace Esensee of San Angelo. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and aides of Shannon Four South Nurses Station along with Dr. Charles Jones for all the loving care they showed Sam.
