Sandra Gayle Hedden was born June 30, 1942 in San Angelo, the second child of Henry and Georgia Mae Hedden of Wall. She lived all her life in the Wall/San Angelo area and was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, worshiping at Southgate Church of Christ since 2002. Sandra passed from this life, in which she found and gave so much joy, on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at her home. Her graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Wall Cemetery. Robert Massie funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Sandra's family knew from an early age that she was special in so many ways. She loved everyone and made friends everywhere she went. In her early years, she looked forward to activities that were organized for the area's handicapped citizens. Almost every Saturday morning, she went bowling with her friends, and each summer she spent a week at Roadrunner Camp. She always looked forward to the camp and would plan for it all year around. She and her parents moved from the family farm at Wall in 1989 to San Angelo. Soon after, her dad passed away and her mother's health declined to the point that Sandra was given a home elsewhere, living lately at D & S Homes in San Angelo. She enjoyed her part-time work and volunteer work, and was involved in many interesting activities with the Home and Southgate. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Forrest, also her aunts Sarah Hook, Lydia Langer and Lillian Williams. She is survived by a sister, Ann Allen and her husband Andy of Christoval. She is also survived by nieces Brenda, Pam Wade and husband Jackie of Wall, Crystal Allen of Cypress, Chelsea Monk and husband Nathan of San Angelo, and great-niece Kimbri Wade of Wall; nephew Brady Allen of Christoval; great nephews Corey and Collin Jernigan, Tanner and Gavin Monk of San Angelo, Brandon Strickland of Amarillo, Caleb Nichols of Crowell and Jonathan Smithee of Wichita Falls, Texas. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Lou Ann Hedden of Wall, aunts Edith Schroeder of George West and Pirla McAda of San Angelo and many other loving cousins and so many friends. Sandra had a lifelong love of children, especially her nieces and nephews and the children at church. She helped in the Southgate Church Cradle Roll and Nursery for the past 10 years and greatly loved these children and was loved in return. She often told people "I'll pray for you" and we think she truly meant it. Sandra will be greatly missed, but we know she is now a special angel in Heaven.
