Sara Valdez Alonzo, 85, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Ballinger. She was born on January 6, 1933 to Enrique and Ester (Valdez) Alonzo in San Angelo. Sara was a homemaker in her own home and was so good that she was also a housekeeper for Shannon, Angelo State, and Cactus Hotel. She also worked at the San Angelo Development Center and for many area home health agencies. She helped people to get their benefits and was always helping everyone around her. Sara was a loving mother and grandmother and was always there for her sons and her grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest, was always in good spirits and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers are David Alonzo, Sam Alonzo, Paul Rodriguez III, Mario Rodriguez, Caleb Reynoso and Conner Featherston. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in law who Sara was always there for Guadalupe Rodriguez, sister, Raquel Lozano; brothers, Adolfo Valdez, Daniel Alonzo, David Alonzo and Samuel Alonzo. Sara is survived by her three loving sons, Paul (Diana) Rodriguez, Steven Rodriguez and Mario Rodriguez all of San Angelo. Grandchildren are Jackie Rodriguez, Paul (Dreama DeLeon) Rodriguez III, Ginger Rodriguez, Elida (Raymond) Rodriguez, Mario (Margaret) Rodriguez, Brianna Rodriguez. Great grandchildren are Bianca (Conner) Featherston, Alexia, Christopher and Sarah DeLeon, Heaven Flores, Christianna, Caleb and Ephram Reynoso, Celeste and Kinsley Barraza. Great-great Granddaughter is Brynlee Featherston. Brothers are Ausencio Alonzo of San Angelo and Enrique (Ester) Alonzo from Chino Hills, CA. Viewing will be 10:00am to 8:00pm on Thursday and Friday February 15th and 16th, 2018 with a prayer service at 7:00pm Friday at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral services are 10:00am Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Nazareth Presbyterian Church with Pastor Beatrice Torrez, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association at 438 E Houston Harte Expy, San Angelo, TX 76903.
