Sara Morin Ortiz

Sara Morin Ortiz, 77, of San Angelo passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Emilio Sosa of St. Joseph's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Sara was born on October 23, 1934 in Mathis, TX to Amado and Viviana Morin. After moving to San Angelo she worked for Barry's Manufacturing for 35 years before retiring in 1990. She then went to work as a Healthcare Giver for Nurse's Unlimited. Sara was an avid gardener with a gifted green thumb and enjoyed watching the birds play in her garden. She enjoyed family gatherings especially if it was a fish fry; there was never a piece of fish she would turn down. Sara is survived by son, Ramon Gutierrez and wife, Irma of San Angelo; daughter, Sandy Brooks and husband Kelly of Lake Jackson, TX; son, Rodrigo Ortiz of San Angelo; sister, Rosa Rodriguez of San Angelo; sister, Cecilia Rodriguez and husband, Manuel of Mathis, TX; sister, Petra Trevino and husband, Donicio of Manvel, TX; grand children, Joe Ramon Gutierrez, Genaro Ortiz, Andrea Ortiz, Sara Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Bianca Ortiz and Isaiah Ortiz; one great-grandchild, Jacob Gutierrez and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Yesuey Gonzalez, Isaiah Ortiz, Joshua Brooks, Ruben Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez and Genaro Ortiz.
