SARAH HOOK

Sarah Hook, 85 of San Angelo died Monday October 11, 2004 at the Eastland health care center. Visitation will be Tuesday October 12, 2004 from 8:00AM to 2:00 PM at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM at the Wall Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Berthold, pastor of the Chadbourne North Church of Christ, officiating. Sarah was born on April 30, 1919 in Alba, TX. to George William Poss and Willie Pirl Wilkins Poss. Her family moved to West Texas when she was six months old. They came through Dallas in a wagon and a team of mules. Sarah married Joseph Daniel Hooks (J. D.) on the steps of the Harris and Irving Church of Christ on November 9, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Hook and her parents, George and Willie Poss. Survivors are her daughters; Margaret and husband, Don Scott of Eastland, Dollie Jones of Matador, Willie Griffin of San Angelo, Edith and husband, John Lannon of Ft. Stockton, TX. Grandchildren are Rene` and husband, Mike Allen of Trophy Club, Teresa and husband, David Steinbrenner of Kerrville, Eddie and Wife, Melva Scott of Richland Hills, Becky Ballew,of San Angelo Jeff and wife, Michelle Jones of Norfolk, VA., Judy Smith, William Griffin, Stacy and Gary Erwin, Rhonda Childress all of San Angelo and Quinda and husband, Mark Duncan of Bronte, And 18 Great-Grandchildren. Sisters; Edith Schroeder of George West, TX., Georgia Mae Hedden of San Angelo, Pirl and husband Bill McAda of San Angelo and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her family and friends. She loved to play games and was always young at heart. Sarah was a member of the Chadbourne North Church of Christ. Memorials are to be made in Sarah's memory to the Medina Children's Home, Christmas in April at 408 S. Oakes San Angelo, Tx. 76903 and to Meals for the Elderly at 310 E.
