Sophia Mildred Mehaffey

Sophia Mildred Mehaffey age 90, entered the gates of Heaven on June 3, 2021 as she was surrounded by her family at home.

Public viewing will be on Monday, June 7th from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Robert Massie funeral home. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 8th at 11:00 AM in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Randy Bush of Harris Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Sophia was born on July 3, 1930 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to her parents, Charles and Louise Lamb. She went on to become a military wife and traveled the world in support of her husband and growing family. She was a mentor to many young military wives overseas. Sophia delighted in her family and raised them with love. She spent over nineteen years teaching preschool at Harris Avenue Baptist Church and serving her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters, Hazel Saunders, Lola Ferguson, Vinea Payne, Mary Cutshall and Lillie McDaris.

Sophia leaves to cherish her love, her daughter, Sharon Laubenstein and her husband Robert of Longview, Texas; her son, Mike Mehaffey of San Angelo, Texas; her daughter, Laura Eisenbach and her husband Larry of San Angelo, Texas; daughter Teresa Baumeister and her husband Mike of Warrensburg, Missouri; her nine grandchildren; and her fourteen precious great grandchildren.
