Stanley E. Wood

Stanley E. Wood, 91, of San Angelo, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at a local nursing home. He was born on May 4, 1925 to Ezra and Maybelle (Thompson) Wood in Milford, IA. On May 27, 1990, he married Lucille Stanton in San Angelo. Stan loved to square dance and travel with the Good Sam RV Club. He held offices with both the Square Dance Club and the RV Club for many years. When asked about his occupation, Stan would say he was a Jack of all trades. Stan is survived by his loving spouse of 26 years Lucille Stanton Wood, Two Daughters, Jenean (Dennis) Rains of Quartzsite, AZ, Rosanna (Jim) Rhinehart of San Angelo; Two Step-sons, Lonnie (Judy) Stanton of San Benito, TX, Andy (Cristi) Stanton of Abilene; Step-daughter, Ralena (Sonya) Stanton of Irving; Three Sisters, Ila Mae Rooks of Marion, IA, Beryle (Bill) Williams of Estes Park, CO and Peggy Wynne of North Port, FL; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Maybelle Wood along with his sister, Donna Hall. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, 1:00 pm at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Chaplain Travis Monday, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
