Teresa Lynn McCrea Atchison, at the age of 64, joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven on Thursday, January 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived her life with the steadfast belief that she would one day be in the presence of her Savior.
Teresa fought the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12) and now she rests in the peace of her heavenly home.
Teresa's life was a testament to love, grace, and service. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who radiated warmth and kindness to all who knew her. Her joy was found in the Lord, and her passion for His word was unshakable. She shared the message of Christ with everyone she encountered, always ready to offer an encouraging word or a prayer of hope. While small in stature she was a mighty warrior for Christ.
Born in San Angelo on December 30, 1960, to Laverne and Leonard Brock McCrea, Teresa was the fifth child of seven siblings. She was a 1979 graduate of San Angelo Central High School. Her family meant the world to her, and she was known by many names: Teresa, Sis, Momma, Grandma, Pretty Lady, Hippie Chick, Aunt Teresa, and so much more. Each of these names spoke to the many roles she played, and the love she shared so freely.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Atchison, and her five grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Cody, Seth, and Kymree. She also leaves behind her brothers, Randy and wife Roberta of Sterling City, Micky and wife Sherry, Kenny and wife Gina, Mark and wife Vernona, all of San Angelo; as well as many sister-in-loves, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, Annie, Su, and Estella who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her mother, Laverne McCrea; her father, Leonard McCrea; her brothers, Tony McCrea and Danny McCrea; and her son, Brandon Atchison.
A celebration of Teresa's life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
While we mourn the loss of such a precious soul, we take comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of her Lord, rejoicing with those who went before her. She has passed the torch for strength, unconditional love, and unwavering faith to us all.
In lieu of flowers make contributions in memory of Teresa McCrea to CV Biblical Counseling Center, 2601 Freeland Ave, San Angelo, Texas 76901.
