Tommie Jo Huling, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009. She was born in Wellington, Texas on December 27, 1927 and grew up in San Angelo where she graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1945. After high school, she attended Texas Tech University. She married the love of her life, Gerald Huling on June 2, 1946, after he returned from serving in the U.S. Armed forces during World War II. She was a homemaker while raising her family and later worked at Goodfellow Credit Union and Mitsubishi Aircraft and was the manager of Cielo Vista Apartments from 1975 to 1978. She was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed water skiing, golf, and playing bridge but most of all in her life, she loved spending time with her family and friends, who were an endless source of pride and joy in her life. She is survived by her son, Greg Huling and wife Crystal of San Angelo; daughter, Leslie Huling of Austin, Texas; daughter, Lisa Diebitsch and her husband Gregg; "brother", Donald Chandler and wife Bonnie; sister-in-law, Louise Moulton and sister-in-law, Monette Huling Lasater and husband Albert; six grandchildren, Grant Huling and wife Missy of Austin; Garrett Huling and wife Natalie of McAllen; Stacy and Graham Austin of Austin, Texas and Colton and McKenna Diebitsch of San Angelo; Great grandchildren, Ava and Grayson Huling of Austin, Texas and a number of loving and supportive nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald S. "Bitsy" Huling; her parents, Joe and Ella Moulton; her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Trammel Wilson; her brother Pete Moulton; and her nephew, Joe Moulton. The Pallbearers will be, Grant Huling, Garrett Huling, Graham Austin, and Tom Austin. Honorary pallbearers include Gregg Diebitsch and Marshall Huling. Tommie had a great sense of humor and she will be dearly missed by all, but especially by her beloved sister-in-law, Louise Moulton; her best friend, Francis Pinson and her dear friends Gloria and Travis Perry. We love you "Mimi" and are so thankful we had you all these years. A service celebrating her life will be at 3:00pm, Friday, March 13, 2009 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Harold Watkins of Freedom Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. A family visitation will be held on Friday before the funeral from 1:45pm to 2:45pm at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Meadow Creek Nursing Home who provided her with loving care and to the doctors and nurses of Shannon Medical Center and VistaCare Hospice, especially Chaplain J.T. Tucker for his prayer and concern. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in her honor be made to the charity of your choice or Meals for the Elderly, the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
