Tony L. Lane

Tony L. Lane, 80 of Sonora passed away on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at a local care center. Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Tony was born September 15, 1932 in Glendale, AZ to John S. and Elsie (Mitchell) Lane. Tony served his country in the U. S. Air Force and retired as an E-6. He married Mary Ellen Walsworth on October 8, 1955 at Gary A.F.B. in San Marcus. He later retired from the City of Sonora after working as the Sonora Municipal Airport manager for 14 years. He was a member of the Sonora Lions Club and the First United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Ural Collins and a son, David Leroy Lane. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Lane of Sonora; three daughters; Dodi Weeks of DeFuniak Springs, Fl., Donna Lane of Corpus Christi, Danine Brister and husband, Clifford of Sonora; daughter in law, Jackie Contello of Houston; grandchildren, Mandy Knott and husband, Cody of Justin, Tx., Lane Weeks and Kelly Weeks and four great grandchildren, Galexie, Kaylee, Brody and Zoey Weeks all of DeFuniak Springs, Fl. In lieu of flowers Donations in Tony's memory may be given to the Sonora Downtown Lions Club at P.O. Box 914 Sonora, Texas 76950 or to the First United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 675 Sonora, Texas 76950. The family wishes to thank the people of Sonora who have helped us in our time of grief.
