Virginia Gonzales Ramirez 90, of San Angelo, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 in a local care center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Services are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Virginia was born on December 16, 1925 to Justo and Margarita (Sanchez) Gonzales in San Angelo. She married Fernando T. Ramirez on April 13, 1947. Virginia's priority was to raise her children in the Catholic faith. She volunteered at St. Joseph's Catholic Church: teaching CCD classes, serving funeral dinners for parish members, served as a Minister of the Cup, and was a member of the Alter Society. Virginia and Fernando participated in the construction of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She helped initiate the head-start program at Reagan Elementary School and assisted as a Teacher's aide while her children were attending school there. Virginia was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Fernando, and two daughters Linda Lynch and Connie M. Ramirez. Pallbearers will be Bryan Gonzales, Adrian Hernandez, Adam Hernandez, Joey Lynch, Fred Hernandez, and Robert Gonzales. Virginia is survived by: sons Fernando Ramirez Jr. and wife Cecilia of San Diego, CA and Daniel Ramirez of Austin, daughters Frances R. Gonzales of Carrollton and Angela Hernandez and husband Fred of San Angelo, grandchildren Leah Lynch, Bryan Gonzales, Adrian Hernandez, Adam Hernandez, Nicholas Ramirez, and Noah Ramirez, great-grandchildren Joey Lynch, Patrick Lynch, Maya Gonzales and Penelope Gonzales.
