He is the first of five children. Bill and his siblings grew up in Mercy and later in Rochelle, TX. After his graduation, Bill worked as a heavy construction operator in Midland up until he met the love of his life, Mildred V. Konczak, was teaching school at the time. After a short courtship, Bill and Mildred were married in Clyde, TX.; together they had three children, William Jr., Darla Jeanne and Leland Frank. For the next twenty years, they travelled the U.S., Texas to Montana, Utah to Kansas, and places in the Deep South. Bill was also an avid Skipper, belonging to the San Angelo Yacht Club and the Boy Scouts of America. His passion was the activities and sporting events with his family. During these years Bill also worked at and later owned Candy Specialties, home of the Jalapeno Lollipop. Dad was known throughout town as the "Candy Man" and loved every minute of it. After forty years of watching his kids grow up and blessed with eight grandchildren; Bill and Millie retired in 2002. In that year, after forty years of marriage the Lord called Mildred home. Bill then went back to work to keep himself busy. At Home Motors, he worked alongside his youngest son, Frank recovering cars and trucks, until he became sick. While recovering and semi-retired, The Lord called again in 2004 for Frank to come home. In 2005, The Lord called again and Bill lost his dad. To keep himself, busy, he found a job at Jim Bass Ford working in the body shop; a job he found different and rewarding because of the people he worked with and his uncanny ability to never meet a stranger. While not working, Bill loved to see his grandchildren and spending time with his own kids. He enjoyed all of the attention that he got. Darla and William, both when they were at home tried to spend as much time as they could looking after their father. Bill's death was sudden and unexpected and he did not suffer.
