WILLIAM EDWARDS BRICKEN

William Edward Bricken, 70 of San Angelo died January 21, 2008 in an area hospital. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Halfast, associate pastor of St. Luke's United Methodist Church officiating. Burial of his ashes will be held at a later date at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, San Diego, California. He was born February 10, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas to Herman Cecil and Vernice Lorraine Fincke Bricken. He worked as an aviation mechanic in the U. S. Navy and attained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer AVCM E-9. He served in Vietnam and Korea. He married Cheryl L. Gibbs on July 27, 1981 in Yuma, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bricken of San Angelo; a father and mother-in-law; Presley and Betty Gibbs of San Angelo; Two daughters; Rebercca Heather Bricken of Bowie, Texas Katherine Elizabeth Bricken of San Angelo; Two granddaughters; Courtney Renea Collins of Amarillo and Michaela Paige Holley of San Angelo; a brother; James Bricken and his wife, Shelia of Felton, California; a sister; Florence Habermann and her husband, George of Barberton, Ohio and a special cousin; Ann White and her husband, George of Houston.
