WILLIAM "SAM" H. LOFTIN

William "Sam" H. Loftin, Sr., 75, of Mertzon, passed away Thursday, October 07, 2004 in a local hospital. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the Mertzon Cemetery with Rev. Phil Steinbach of Mertzon First United Methodist Church will be officiating. Sam was born November 30, 1928, in Mertzon, to Clyde and Leda Loftin. He worked as a driller in the oil field and as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Leda Loftin, his first wife, Joyce Loftin, second wife Lois Lee Loftin, son Larry Loftin, grandson Jimmy Loftin and a granddaughter Brandy Kae Loftin. Survivors are: Son:William H. Loftin, Jr. and wife, Ruth of Alamogordo, NM Two daughters:Darlene Daily and husband, Kenneth of San Angelo Yvonne Kincaid and husband, Gaylord of Denton Two sisters:Katherine Ivey and husband, Ray of Mertzon Mary Moos and husband, Kennard of San Angelo SevenGrandchildren Fourteen Great-grandchildren Thirty nieces and nephews
