WILLIAM "BILL" SAM POOL

William "Bill" Sam Pool, 103 of Sterling City, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in Sterling County Nursing Home in Sterling City. Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Little Saline Cemetery in London, TX with Pastor Don Davis of the Church of Christ in Sterling City, officiating. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Bill was born May 16, 1903 in Robert Lee to John and Rosa Pool. He was raised around the San Angelo area. Bill had lived in Paintrock, Sterling City, Menard, Eldorado, Ft. Stockton working for auto dealers as a mechanic. He had lived in Ft. Stockton 42 years moving back to Sterling City in 1999. He had lived the last four years in Sterling County Nursing Home. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Willie Lancaster Pool, four brothers and five sisters. Survivors are: two daughters Sandra Pool Haigood and husband, Robert of Sterling City and Glenda Pool Patterson of Tucson, AZ; one sister Ernestine Wilson of Jasper, TX; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-granddaughters; two step-daughters Beverly Halbert and husband, Charlie of McGregor, TX and Shirley Elmore and husband, Jim of Ft Stockton, four step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
