Tilemahos "Tim" Beys, 93, of San Angelo passed away on December 28, 2023 in San Angelo.
Tim was born on November 9, 1930 in Ana Hora (a village of Nafpaktos) in Greece. He immigrated thru Ellis Island to the United States at the age of 19 in 1951. The youngest of five, he was sponsored by his uncle to come to San Angelo to work, pursue the American dream, and to help support his family back in Greece.
Tim owned and operated Charles's Restaurant for over 40 years. It was well known by its loyal customers for its fresh home style cooking, especially the chicken fried steak.
He met and married his beautiful wife, Rula "Choo Choo" Rakagis in 1955. Together they raised two sons. Tim was the best example of a great father and husband anyone could have. Honorable, loyal, hardworking, and always placing his family ahead of himself.
After his retirement he had time for his favorite activities: Dancing, playing golf, reading, socializing, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Tim, being extra friendly and sociable, didn't know a stranger. He was loved by all.
Tim was preceded in death by his wife Rula, his parents and four siblings in Greece.
He is survived by his two sons, George Beys, and Sam Beys and wife Maria; his four grandsons, Michael, Alexander, Nick, and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews both here and in Greece.
The family would like to express their many thanks to Shannon Home Healthcare team, his niece, Gloria Hollis, nephew, William Jernigan, and his special friend, Betty Jackson for their love and care for Tim.
